Two summers back I had gone to Singapore and decided to share my experience with anyone who is interested.
I am from India and it took us 4 hours to reach the Changi airport, Singapore. We flew Indian Airlines and the trip was very comfortable. The crew were more than friendly. Infact, on my sister's request who was 18 years old, specially made us cold coffee which was not on the menu.
The best part, we got a chance to see the cockpit!!
We need to fill in some forms to enter into Singapore which ask us things like purpose of visit, Occupation etc, etc which are available in the airport, but Indian Airlines(and I guess most others), provided us the forms 30 minutes before landing which made this formality hassle free.
The Changi Airport is awesome. No other word for it. But more on this later because we had to spend a night there on return trip due to our ignorance in Airway Regulations :).
We arrived Singapore at about 9:30PM and checked into Quality Hotel, Singapore. I will recommend this hotel to anyone who has a moderate budget and those who want to stay in comfort and reduce accomodation expenditure. We were four of us, me(22), sis(18) mom and dad, and on our request the hotel said they had no objection for four of us staying in one room. At no extra cost!! Not satisfied? At no extra cost to the complementary breakfast too!!!!
Rooms were decent, had all the facilities including a fridge, safe, electric water heater to heat drinking water which proved useful to prepare maggi :). Four of us did not feel crowded at all, but were in fact comfortable. Maybe some pics will be useful. Will add them as soon as I find them.
Then we set out for dinner. We went to Sarvana bhavan which was quite close opposite to a mall called Mustafa Shopping Center. None of us was feeling tired, thanks to the short and hassle free journey, so we set out for the Mall. It was HUGE! We went in from one street and came out from another street!! They have everything.
